But availability initially has been confirmed only for the US, where it will be launched early in 2009.
An Infiniti spokesman would say only that the drop-top is “under study for launch in Europe” where it would join the G37 sedan and coupé in the new dealerships which begin opening across Europe from October.
The brand is already on sale, and doing well, in Russia where its big, US-style SUVs are especially popular.
Based on the coupé, the new convertible has a three-piece automatic retracting hardtop. As in some upmarket rivals, audio and air conditioning systems operate in different modes to suit roof up or down driving.
An Infiniti spokesman told just-auto earlier this year the company was making huge efforts to ensure top standards of customer service at each of its new dealerships and promised numerous innovations.
