However, the firm noted that October’s figures were a rise over September deliveries offering some hope that the collapse of freight truck sales this year may have bottomed.
Volvo Truck brand sales halved on the year to 4,752 units. Europe registered the largest decline of 63%, followed by Asia with 46%.
Deliveries from Mack dropped 24% to 1,075 units. In South America sales fell 65%.
There are no clear signs of recovery in the Class 8 new truck sales in North America, but there are indications of an improving economic climate in the USA, Volvo said.
