The Nissans sold by the German dealers will include one van model – the Interstar, jointly developed and built with Renault and GM-Europe, ranging from 2.8 to 3.5 tonne GVW – and two rigid truck models, the Spanish-built Cabstar with GVW of 3.5 to 4.5 tonnes and the Atleon at 3.5 to 15 tonnes GVW.
“This will strengthen the business of our dealer network since we will be able to offer our customers the complete range of vehicles from the same dealer,” said Göran Simonsson, managing director of Volvo Trucks in Germany.
The intention is to extend the co-operation between the two companies to other European markets in due course, but further expansion will be individually evaluated, according to local market situations.
