Leif Johansson, the 52-year-old chief executive of Swedish truck-maker AB Volvo, has said he will take a leave of absence from work in the coming month to undergo heart surgery, Dow Jones reported.

Following tests related to disruptions to Johansson’s circulation, doctors discovered a weakening of walls between the auricles of the heart, he said.
“This will be repaired through a relatively routine operation,” Johansson said in a media statement.
Deputy Chief Executive Lennart Jeansson will share responsibility for the company with Johansson in the coming month, though the CEO expects to be able to work from home during his convalescence.
