Volvo Cars has completed the design and development of self-driving cars.
The company’s R&D head Peter Mertens said: “Volvo Cars has designed a complete production-viable autonomous driving system. The key to making this unprecedented leap is a complex network of sensors, cloud-based positioning systems and intelligent braking and steering technologies.”

Volvo Cars said that in case of an emergency the new car would react “faster than most humans,” NDTV Gadgets reported citing Agence France-Presse.
In a pilot initiative with Gothenburg city’s government and the country’s transport authority, the company plans to introduce 100 self-driving cars in the city in 2017.
