Volvo Trucks North America has received an order for more than 4,000 VN 670s, a tractor version of the VN truck, from Phoenix, Arizona-based Swift Transportation, one of the largest transport companies in the United States.

This is the largest single order that Volvo has received for the tractor version of its VN series which was launched in North America about a year ago.
The deal means Volvo will be the main supplier of trucks to Swift Transportation for a two-year period, with an option for up to three years. Production will begin in the first quarter of 2004.
The trucks will be delivered with both Cummins ISX and Volvo D-12 engines.
