Per-Erik Lindquist, head of franchise and factory sales, confirmed that bookings remain strong.
“The continued strong underlying demand for transport capacity is reflected in a high order intake. The major part of the increase comes from European markets, which supports our conviction of customers’ preference in EGR-technology as the best choice for the emission level Euro 4, which became compulsory on 1 October,” said Lindquist.
“There is a shortage of transport capacity in Europe, and the supply of used vehicles is limited.
“Scania is one of the two manufacturers in Europe that provide EGR-engines for Euro 4. Recently, the Dutch transport company Vos Logistics ordered 1,000 Scania tractors with [Euro 4] EGR.
“We have delivered more than 12,000 vehicles equipped with EGR-engines.
“With this strong order intake, we are now booking orders for deliveries in the second quarter of next year,” added Lindquist.
