Scania has said that it has acquired its Portuguese truck and bus distributor, Cimpomovel Veiculos Pesados S.A., for an undisclosed sum.

The transaction covers a nationwide sales and service network, encompassing six wholly owned dealerships with 250 employees.


In 2006 Scania sold around 500 trucks and 50 buses in Portugal, representing a share of 13% and 18% for these vehicle markets, respectively.


“The aim with this acquisition is to further improve the support to the Scania customers in Portugal,” said Scania.
