Saab is to reveal a high-performance concept car at next month’s Frankfurt
Motor Show that it says will showcase its future design direction.
The Saab 9X is said to challenge traditional design by incorporating, for the
first time within one car, key features usually associated with four different
types of vehicle – coupe, roadster, estate and pick-up.
The first photographs released this week show a compact and sporty shape.
“I regard this car as a statement of intent,” says Saab Automobile
CEO Peter Augustsson. “It is physical proof that Saab is embarking on an
exciting journey.”
The car spearheads a major product offensive from the Swedish luxury car manufacturer,
with at least one new car or concept to be announced every year for the next
six years.
