“The role includes the importation and distribution of Saab cars and parts, the establishment of a national retail network and marketing support,” the company said in statements.
New importers will have the redesigned 9-5 sedan, 9-4X crossover and 9-5 wagon models to choose from when they select their regional model lines.
The ‘new’, post-GM, Spyker-owned Saab has now established distributors in 53 countries said the three new appointments, to be made within the next three months, were part of a major expansion program in South America.
“These are exciting times for the Saab franchise as we continue to restructure our international operations,” said sales chief Adrian Hallmark [a seasoned executive who previously headed head VW brand operations in North America and Asia Pacific – ed]. “We are now seeking [long-term business partners] with knowledge of [these automotive markets]. They must share our entrepreneurial approach to business and demonstrate a total commitment to customer service.”
Saab has asked US consultancy firm API to evaluate potential candidates.
