About half of the job cuts will affect white-collar workers and the rest will be production workers in Lear’s car seat factory.

The cuts are due to the ending of production of the Volvo C70 model and to slowing sales at Saab Automobile, Lear reportedly said.

Lear laid off 99 employees in Fargelanda, western Sweden in August 2004.

Over the last year, Lear has axed 170 of 673 jobs in Sweden.
