Dow Jones noted that the award of the disc brake business further extends the existing long business relationship between Haldex and AB Volvo worldwide, including Renault and Mack, in several other brake system products, as well as in other Haldex activities such as hydraulic power systems and engine valve springs.
The disc brake business confirms the industry’s interest in the modular design of the Haldex ModulX air disc brake and shows the Volvo Group’s intention to offer the latest in new products development, Dow Jones added, noting that Haldex was earlier this year awarded a disc brake contract by Renault for heavy duty army vehicles.
All disc brakes will be manufactured at Haldex Landskrona plant in southern Sweden, the report said.
