Autoliv is considering major acquisitions and is looking at entire units at rivals such as Bosch, Continental and Denso Corp according to the company’s CEO.
“We have a strong financial position and we see big opportunities to grow within active safety, which is the fastest growing segment in the market,” Jan Carlson said in an interview for Swedish business daily Dagens Industri.
According to the chief executive, the market for active safety products shows stable growth of 20-30% a year.
Active safety-related systems and products make up some SEK700m of Autoliv’s annual sales. The global market for this segment is valued at SEK30bn-40bn a year, according to Carlson.
