SUVs saw a record share as the European car market continued to grow in October 2019 and 1,208,700 vehicles were registered – the highest volume for that month of the last decade.

The strong growth, of course could partly be explained by the market dropping in October 2018 following the introduction of WLTP, which has improved the year to date (YTD) data overall. However, JATO Dynamics noted, the market was still down 0.8% year on year with 13,284,600 vehicles registered so far in 2019.
