A week-long strike over pay is continuing at Audi's Hungarian plant (Gyor), with signs that there could now be some knock-on effects for manufacturing at Ingolstadt.
Reports in Hungary say the Audi Hungaria Independent Trade Union (AHFSZ) started a week-long strike over wages last Thursday. There are some reports that the Hungarian production halt has also forced the company to pause production at Ingolstadt due to a shortage of Gyor-supplied engines.

The AHFSZ is demanding a wage increase of at least 18%, reports say, with negotiations involving local Audi managers yet to result in agreement between the two sides.
Audi Hungary employs some 13,000 people at its base in Gyor, with an estimated 9,000 belonging to the AHFSZ labour union.
Audi's Gyor plant in Hungary is its largest engine plant worldwide (it also makes engines for other brands in the VW Group). It also makes the electric motor for the e-tron (made in Brussels).
In June 2013, Gyor started series production of the Audi A3 Sedan, followed by the new A3 Cabriolet in October. These two Audi models were the first to be built in full at the site in Hungary. Gyor also manufactures the Audi TT Coupé, Roadster, Audi RS 3 Sedan, Audi S3 Cabriolet and the Audi Q3 (October 2018).
