Stellantis has outlined plans to invest $13bn over the next four years to expand its presence in its “critical” US market and grow domestic manufacturing.
The company said the outlay is the largest in its 100-year US history.

It will back the launch of five new vehicles, production of a new four-cylinder engine, and the creation of more than 5,000 jobs at plants in Illinois, Ohio, Michigan and Indiana.
The investment is also intended to increase annual finished vehicle output in the country by 50% compared with current levels.
Stellantis, which makes Ram trucks and Jeep cars in the US, added that the upcoming model introductions will come alongside a regular schedule of 19 refreshed products across all US assembly facilities and updated powertrains planned through 2029.
Stellantis CEO and North America chief operating officer Antonio Filosa said: “This investment in the US – the single largest in the company’s history – will drive our growth, strengthen our manufacturing footprint and bring more American jobs to the states we call home.”
In Illinois, the company intends to invest more than $600m to reopen the Belvidere Assembly Plant to broaden the Jeep Cherokee and Jeep Compass production for the US market. Initial production is expected in 2027.
Ohio will see a nearly $400m package to move assembly of a new midsize truck to the Toledo Assembly Complex, adding it to production alongside the Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator. Formerly, the plan was allocated to Belvidere.
The launch is anticipated in 2028.
Stellantis also plans further investments in operations of Toledo, encompassing additional technologies and increased production of components at the Toledo Machining Plant.
In Michigan, the company plans to retool the Warren Truck Assembly Plant with an investment of around $100m to build a new range-extended electric vehicle (EV) and internal combustion large SUV from 2028.
Furthermore, Stellantis anticipates investing about $130m at the Detroit Assembly Complex – Jefferson to prepare for production of the next-generation Dodge Durango, with production targeted for 2029.
For Indiana, Stellantis confirmed its previously announced plans to invest over $100m in its Kokomo facilities to produce the new four-cylinder engine, referred to as the GMET4 EVO, with manufacturing scheduled to begin in 2026.
The US operations of Stellantis encompass 34 manufacturing facilities, parts distribution centres and research and development locations across 14 states.
Earlier this month, Stellantis reported a rise in consolidated shipment estimates for the quarter ending 30 September 2025, largely propelled by surging North America sales.
