SsangYong Motor Company has built its millionth diesel engine at the Changwon Plant II.
A ceremony was held at the plant to mark the occasion. The millionth engine is a 2.2-litre engine (D22DTR) for rear wheel drive installation in the New Actyon Sports pickup improved for 2017 with the addition of an upgraded Euro 6 complaint e-XDi220 engine.

The plant produces five different petrol engines and six diesels. Annual producion capacity of 430,000 units is currently allocated to 130,000 petrol units, 200,000 diesels and 100,000 1.6-litre small engines for the Tivoli and its longer XLV variant.
Seung-Ki Song, head of production, said: “Since opening of the Changwon Plant I in 1994 and the Plant II in 2004, total accumulated production of gasoline and diesel engines has exceeded 2,460,000 units.”
