Unions are angry about Delphi’s decision to close the factory without providing a sound explanation.

The move comes after 3,000 people protested the layoff plans in late February.

Delphi has said the factory, which supplies Volvo, Ford, General Motors, Nissan, Mercedes Benz and Kia, has accumulated heavy losses since 2002 and continued operation is unfeasible.

Neither Delphi nor the Spanish unions were available for comment on Monday.
