The pace slowed from the 9.5% year-on-year increase in Spanish car sales during August but sales of four-wheel-drive vehicles rose 22.3% to 8,770 in September, ANFAC reportedly said.
For the first nine months of this year, car sales have risen 2.5% to 1,172,329 while four-wheel-drive sales are up 25.7% to 89,966, the report noted.
ANFAC told Reuters there continued to be a positive trend of purchases by private customers and by non-car rental businesses – purchases by car rental companies fell 11.3% in September but were up 2.7% for the first nine months of the year, it said.
