Volkswagen Group brand Seat sales worldwide rose 8% year on year in the first half of 2015 to 216,500 units, the best H1 result since 2007.
The Leon again spurred results as sales of the compact model rose 9.9% to 86,300 vehicles.
Seat president Jürgen Stackmann said: “Our sales are increasing steadily for the third consecutive year. The redesigned Ibiza and Alhambra will drive sales of these lines and we are getting ready to launch our compact SUV next year.”
Seat increased deliveries by 9% in western Europe in the first half of the year to 172,500 units with recovering Spain the brand’s main market with an increase of 20.3% to 47,200.
The Martorell factory boosted H1 output 10.5% to 264,400 vehicles. Production in Palmela (Portugal), Bratislava (Slovakia) and Mladá Boleslav (Czech Republic) grew 8.1% to 35,900.
