Car sales in Spain rose 25.1% year on year in December with the help of government subsidies, according to car makers’ association ANFAC.

The rise in sales followed an increase of 37.3% in November although car sales fell 17.9% for the year compared to 2008 to 952,772 vehicles.
Subsidies have been available since May.
