Nakayone and Nugar make a range of stamped and welded components for automakers such as Volkswagen, Ford, DaimlerChrysler and General Motors. The companies are headquartered in Mexico City and Sao Paulo.
Cie said Nugar’s acquisition will consolidate its lead in the Brazilian components market, Latin America’s biggest, while buying Nugar will bolster its presence in the key Nafta trade block.
Both deals are subject to regulatory approval, Cie said.
