Berge expects to sell 115,000 units this year, “sharply higher” than an undisclosed amount last year, the official added.
Madrid-based Berge said it sold 15,693 units in the international market during the six-month period, up 25% more year on year. In Spain, the company sold 38,529 units, up 22%, driven by strong sales of Lexus, Kia and SsangYong.
Berge has been expanding aggressively in Latin America, where it now distributes Chinese car brands SAIC and Chery in Peru, Chile, Argentina and Mexico.
Apart from Kia, Lexus and SsangYong, Berge sells Hyundai, Subaru, Hummer, Isuzu, Tata and other brands in Spain.
The firm also distributes Fiat cars in Mexico.
