The Yonhap news agency said the cars subject to the recall are four Swedish-made models produced between February 18 and October 10 last year.

Defects in the fan control program may permanently halt engine cooling systems, the South Korean government said.

Premier Automotive Group Korea, Volvo’s local dealer, will rectify the defect on the four models for free at its service centres starting Friday, the report added.
