GM Daewoo will conduct a voluntary safety recall of the Matiz Creative produced between 27 July 2009 and 30 March 2010, the ministry said in a statement.
The car could have a problem with the front passenger seat airbag, it said.
Meanwhile, Volvo is recalling vehicles in the US due to a software flaw that could cause unexpected stalling.
Affected models are the 2011 Volvo S60, S80, XC60, and XC70. (The S80, XC60, and XC70 were also part of an airbag recall in October.) According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the problem is that “[t]he software calibration for the fuel cut-off functionality in the engine control module (ECM) is too sensitive”. As a result, the engines of affected vehicles could stall unnecessarily and suddenly, seriously increasing the risk of a crash.
The Car Connection said the fix appears to be a fairly simple software update, which dealers will begin providing on or before 10 December.
