He told South Korea’s Maeil Business Newspaper that low-priced products would create stronger demand than high-end ones in India and this would be mirrored around the world. The car industry’s would lie in economy models.


The chairman did not give a launch date for the Nano hybrid which sells from about US$2,000 plus tax in India in petrol-powered form.


Tata also said he was considering exporting the company’s Ace light truck to South Korea and assembling or manufacturing the model in its plant there.
