Industry sources say that Subaru will join four other Japanese automakers – Toyota, Honda, Nissan and Mitsubishi Motors – in selling in South Korea’s small import sector.


From May, the sources say, Subaru will start selling its Outback crossover wagon, Legacy sedan and Forester sport-utility vehicle in South Korea.


Fuji Heavy – the Subaru brand’s owner – will hold a briefing on its entry in the Korean market later this month.


South Korea’s market for imported cars is likely to grow about 20 percent from last year to 74,000 units this year according to the the Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association.
