SUV maker Ssangyong Motor plans to expand capacity at its local plant by half, a company official has said.

Ssangyong, 51% owned by China’s SAIC Motor, will increase annual capacity from 220,000 to 330,000 units by 2010 to meet its long-term growth plan, an anonymous company official told Reuters.


The expanded lines will be used for new model production, though Ssangyong has not yet decided how much it would invest in the expansion, he reportedly added.
