Renault may purchase car parts from Pohang Iron & Steel, Mando Machinery and other Korean companies for its overseas factories, reports the Seoul Economic Daily.
Renault, which owns Korea’s Samsung Motors, is studying the quality and the price of parts supplied from both Pohang and Mando.

The newspaper says that it is highly likely that Renault will choose to export parts from Korea.
Renault Samsung Motors is presently focusing on the Korean market with the Nissan Maxima-based SM5 model. But the company wants to export cars in future.
Renault Samsung is aiming for a 10 to 15 percent share of the Korean car market by 2004. It plans to invest $US300 million over four years to boost output.
