Hyundai has reported a 10% year on year jump in global car sales for May 2013.
It sold 402,406 vehicles although domestic sales continued their downward trendof recent months, off 0.2% to 57,942 units.

The company said that reduced working days at its Korean factories also reduced its domestic supply. This was offset, however, by sales of vehicles produced at overseas plants.
Affiliate Kia sold 39,500 vehicles in Korea, down 3.1% from a year ago while combined sales at home and abroad also decreased 5.9% to 253,701.
The three smaller Korea-based carmakers continued their recent sales momentum. GM Korea said its sales edged up 1.2% to 11,810 vehicles in the domestic market and 56,549 overseas.
Ssangyong sold 12,730 vehicles globally with domestic sales in particular, soaring 28.4%, driven mostly by its strong SUV lines.
Renault Samsung Motors, still recovering from sluggish sales last year, sold 9,572 vehicles in May: 4,602 in Korea and 4,970 exports, a 1.5% increase month on month.
