Kia has said that its plants have returned to normal operations after a tentative agreement with its unionised workers to end a six-week strike.

“Although the deal is provisional, workers are returning to normal operations today,” company spokesman Kang Hyun-geun said.
In the agreement, Kia Motors will increase monthly salaries by 5.7%.
The deal must be approved by unionised workers on Tuesday.
Kia’s agreement followed a settlement last week by SAIC-owned Ssangyong Motor and its union workers, ending a nearly seven-week strike.
