The redesigned model is 9.5 cm longer and 1.5cm  lower than its predecessor on a shorter, 2.7m wheelbase.


Over 900,000 units of the old version were sold wordwide, according to the WorldCarInfo website.


The new Sorento will be available with a Euro 5-compliant 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine. Other options will include a 2.4-litre petrol and 2.7-litre LPG units.


Panoramic sun roof, voice-activated navigation, Bluetooth, hill start assist, downhill brake control and vehicle dynamic control are among the available features.
