Hyundai Motor is recalling 204,490 sport utility vehicles in its home market because of cable problems with their auxiliary diesel heater, the auto maker said on Tuesday.
According to Reuters, the recall applies to Santa Fe SUVs built between November 1, 2000 and January 18, 2004.
“Hyundai decided to recall the SUVs as a defect in cable connections could cause a heating problem with auxiliary heaters,” Hyundai Motor spokesman Cho Hong-ki told the news agency.
Reuters said Cho could not immediately give an estimate of the total cost incurred by the recall. The recall period begins on Sept. 23 and lasts for 18 months.
