Hyundai Motor is mulling building pick up trucks, an executive said on Tuesday (17 March).
Park Byung-cheol, a director at Hyundai’s R&D division, told Reuters its Santa Cruz crossover truck concept received a “good response” at the Detroit show last January.
However, he added there were “hurdles” to the production, but did not elaborate.
He also said there was no plan currently to make Tucson crossovers in the United States.
The Santa Fe SUV and Sonata sedan are built in Hyundai’s Alabama plant.
