Under the reorganization programme, Daewoo has increased the number of sales divisions to 25 from 12 so that the company can predict consumer demand and trends more swiftly, the Herald report said.

The company added that it had streamlined its structure by transferring much of the head office’s power and responsibilities to regional sales divisions.

“By introducing a more localized marketing system, we plan to implement aggressive strategies in order to raise GM Daewoo’s domestic market share to over 30 percent from the current 25 percent,” said Ha Kwan-bong, a Daewoo executive in charge of domestic sales operations, in remarks reported by the Korea Herald.
