The Chinese government has reportedly stopped new car imports from Hyundai and Kia since mid-September.

A Hyundai Motor Group official told Reuters that import permits stopped being issued to the companies in mid-September, but that the companies have not received any official notification from China’s government about the issue or any explanation for the apparent permit suspension.
Local newspaper Chosun Ilbo reports that China had halted car imports from the two automakers after Chinese dealers claimed Hyundai and Kia had violated anti-trust laws.
Hyundai has invested heavily in car production in China and earlier this year opened a second car plant in China, doubling its potential production capacity in the country to 600,000 vehicles a year
