Speaking at the 2003 Korea Import Motor Show in Seoul, Paysen said that although overall automobile demand has been weak in the wake of the war in Iraq and the onset of SARS, demand in the luxury car market hasn’t been affected much, according to the report.

“The automobile market condition isn’t very favourable now due to economic and political issues, such as the war in Iraq, the spread of SARS and North Korea’s nuclear issues. But we still believe we will perform well this year or even better than the previous year,” Paysen said in the Dow Jones report.

The report said that he added that he expects the automobile market to be more ‘dynamic’ in the second half of the year than the first half, despite lingering uncertainties in the global economy.
