Renault Samsung volume was 23,228 compared with 15,581 in the final month of 2008. Exports rose from 6,380 to 7,288.


Sales by SUV specialist Ssangyong fell to 5,379 from 5,540. Exports dipped to 1,790 from 2,587 in December 2008.
