There was good news for DaimlerChrysler in South Africa, according to the local press association: subsidiary DaimlerChrysler SA boosted turnover 64 percent (to 13.9 billion rand [$US1.22 billion]) in 2001, compared with 2000.
Management board member for finance Rudi Borgenheimer told journalists this was the best result in the company#;s history. The target had been 12.6 billion rand, he added.
