Sogefi will has contracted with Geely's Volvo Cars for engine coolant pumps for several future hybrid models, the Italian supplier said.
The contract, which covers XC40, S60, V60, XC90 and S90 hybrid models, will generate an additional EUR10m (US$11.7m) in annual sales, the company announced in a statement cited by Reuters.
Sogefi will start producing the pumps at its plant in Wujiang, China, in 2019, the report said.
Volvo Cars announced last year all of models launched after 2019 would be electric or hybrid.
Sogefi (see our QUBE data on this supplier here), founded in 1980, is a Milan-headquartered supplier best known for its fluid filtration products.
The company employs over 6,900 people worldwide in 41 manufacturing facilities across 23 countries and four continents, together with nine R&D centres and 16 sales offices.
