Skoda will commence European market sales of its Skoda Elroq all-electric compact SUV later this month. The car will become the brand’s second all-electric model (also Kodiaq) to be built on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform.

Starting at around €33,000, Skoda says the Elroq enters the European market as the most affordable EV in its segment, taking into account its battery size and extensive standard equipment.

It says the largest 82kWh battery option (there are three battery sizes offered) will be capable of up to 360 miles (WLTP) of range.

Klaus Zellmer, CEO of Skoda Auto, said: “The Skoda Elroq is our first BEV model in the compact SUV class, the fastest-growing and most popular sub-segment in Europe.

“At a very competitive starting price of around 33,000 euros in selected European markets, the Elroq is the most affordable vehicle in its segment across Europe, achieving price parity with its ICE counterpart in many markets.”
