SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW), a joint venture majority owned by Chinese state-owned automaker SAIC Motor, has officially launched its new Wuling Binguo S battery-powered small SUV in the Chinese market. The new model is keenly priced at between CNY 66,800 and CNY 79,800 (US$9,400-US$11,200), a further sign that China’s EV price war is far from over.

The Bingo S is designed to compete head-on with the Geely Xingyuan, the best-selling model in this segment. SGMW is understood to have received 55,000 orders for the model in the first two days after its launch.
