“This specialised sale presents the opportunity to acquire state-of-the-art automotive seat manufacturing equipment,” it said in a statement.

The assets are for sale by private treaty and an online auction sale in October.

TS Tech is a Japanese manufacturer of seats for cars and motorcycles. Its Swindon-based site was the car seat supplier for the nearby Honda manufacturing plant which closed permanently in July 2021, the same month production ceased at the TS Tech plant.

The assets include specialist automotive seat manufacturing equipment and machinery including 19 robotic MIG welding cells, spin rivet machines, tube bending system, chemical foam injection, maintenance equipment and compressors.

There are also two assembly lines with Yoshikawa hydraulic spin rivet machines, rail frame marriage conclusion machines, pallet seat assembly, Estic nut runners, Atlas Copco and Yokota wireless torque wrenches, the 19 robotic MIG welding cells with Panasonic and Yaskawa 6 axis robots (2007 – 2016), Keiyo automated tube bending and pressing system (2011), Ingersoll Rand ML-75 and N75 air compressor and Link 51 pallet racking.

Duncan Ainscough, managing director, commercial & industrial at Gordon Brothers, said: “The site presents a unique selection of car seat manufacturing equipment for purchase, and a rare opportunity for relevant companies to acquire specialist equipment at highly competitive prices.”
