Nissan Motor said global production in May increased 0.4% year on year to 435,938 units, the fourth consecutive month of increase and a record for the month.
Production in Japan decreased 2.5% to 65,309 units. Output outside Japan increased 0.9% to 370,629 units, the 13th consecutive month of increase and a record for the month. US production fell 3.9% to 80,439 units.
Mexican production decreased 0.8% to 69,721 units, UK production increased 12.1% to 43,175 units, Spanish production increased 11.2% to 11,877 units, China output was down 0.8% to 100,122 units and production in other regions rose 3.2% to 65,295 units.
Global sales fell 2.4% to 431,716 units.
In Japan, sales including mini-vehicles decreased 26.2% to 28,678 units, vehicle registrations increased 0.2% to 25,573 units and mini-vehicle sales decreased 76.8% to 3,105 units.
Sales outside Japan decreased 0.1% to 403,038 units.
US sales fell 1.0% to 133,496 units, Mexican sales rose 8% to 28,819 units, a May record and European sales dipped 1.1% to 59,524 units.
In China, sales increased 3.4% to 106,074 units. Sales in other regions fell 6.7% to 61,813 units.
Exports in May increased 19.5% to 41,321 units, the first increase in six months.
