Volkswagen has  launched ‘full-cycle’ production of the Skoda Fabia at its Kaluga plant.

Full-cycle production includes welding and painting.

Volkswagen started full-cycle production at the Kaluga plant in October 2009 and currently assembles Volkwagen Tiguan and Skoda Octavia cars there.

VW opened the plant in Kaluga in November 2007, and its planned capacity is 150,000 cars a year.

Volkswagen is also planning a special model for the Russian market – a four-door ‘Logan fighter’.

It will be a budget sedan that will be assembled in Kaluga.
