Volkswagen’s Russian assembly plant is expected to start producing Volksvagen-Rus compact cars on 16 September, Vladimir Titiyevsky, general director of Zarubezhstroy, said on Wednesday.
Zarubezhstroy won the tender to construct the plant, which is located in the Kaluga Region, and is expected to complete the job on 16 August, Prime-Tass reported.
Volkswagen has spent EUR370m on the plant which is expected to produce 250,000 cars a year.
