The truck output and sales of German-Belarus joint venture MAZ-MAN rose to 197 vehicles in January-August from 93 vehicles in the same period last year, an official with the company’s press service told Prime-Tass on Monday.

Of this amount the company sold 128 vehicles in Belarus and 54 in Russia. The company is the only mass producer of vehicles that meet Euro-3 standards in the CIS.


Earlier the company said that in 2004 its expected its truck output to soar to 500 vehicles from 194 in 2003.


MAZ-MAN’s shareholders are Minsk-based truck producer MAZ with 41%, Belarus’ Infobank with 6%, Germany’s MAN Nutzfahrzeuge with about 10% and an undisclosed Austrian company, which holds the remaining stake. Besides trucks MAZ-MAN produces semi tractors.
