ZF Kama, the JV between Kamaz and ZF Friedrichshafen, plans to make 20-25,000 gearboxes for Kamaz vehicles in 2009, up from 2008’s expected 17,000, director general Vladislav Pastushenko said.
The JV began production in November 2005 with assembly of one type of gearbox. It has since expanded into component production and assembly of a second gearbox type.
Further components will be made in Russia from next year when production of an automated gearbox will also begin.
