Russian carmaker AvtoVAZ has signed an agreement to buy equipment and services from German engineering company Siemens, the German company said Thursday.
Under the agreement, Siemens is to supply automation equipment for AvtoVAZ’ production lines, as well as energy-saving technologies, IT technologies, and lightning equipment, Prime-Tass reported.
Cooperation between the two companies will help AvtoVAZ implement its investment plan until 2012, which envisages a substantial upgrade of the plant, Siemens said.
