Russian automaker Severstal-Auto has started selling Isuzu NQR 71 medium-duty trucks that were assembled at its Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant.

The plant started the trucks on 11 July and has so far assembled more than 30 out of a planned 504 this year. The truck’s retail price is set at 868,000 rubles.
Severstal-Auto said earlier this year that it planned to sell about 10,000 Isuzu in 2007-2009, Prime-Tass said.
Severstal-Auto signed a license agreement to assemble Isuzu trucks in February. In addition to NQR 71 models, its plans to assemble CXZ 51 heavy-duty trucks.
Severstal-Auto, also known as Severstal-Avto, was established in March 2002. The company controls the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant, or UAZ, ZMA compact car producer and the Zavolzhsky Engine Plant, or ZMZ.
Severstal-Auto is affiliated with major Russian steel producing Severstal Group through its major owner, billionaire businessman Alexei Mordashov.
